Music at Schols
Music flourishes at St. Scholastica's as it plays a significant role in the ethos of the school as practised in both secular and liturgical settings. It involves the mandatory curriculum for Years 7 and 8, the elective program in Years 9 and 10 and the Preliminary and HSC options in Years 11 and 12.
Extra-curricular music encompasses choirs, instrumental ensembles, bands and chamber orchestras. Girls are encouraged to join these groups to nurture and extend their musical talents.
The Instrumental Program which offers individual tuition in a number of instruments and voice brings some eleven specialist tutors to the school. The College is fortunate to have two dedicated Music spaces, complete with practice rooms.
The Music department also uses the College drama theatre and Trixie Forest Centre for larger performances.
