CURRICULUM - ST SCHOLASTICA'S STAGE 6
This stage of the curriculum is Years 11 and 12. It is divided into the Preliminary (Year 11) and HSC (Year 12) Years. It ultimately leads to students receiving the NSW Higher School Certificate.
In Year 11, students typically study 12 or 13 units of study in the Preliminary year. Only two subjects are mandatory in Year 11 at St Scholastica’s English and 1 U Studies of Religion. In Year 12, students typically study between 11 and 13 units of study in the HSC year. Only two subjects are mandatory in Year 12 at St Scholastica’s English and 1 U Studies of Religion.
Students in Year 11 and 12 have a choice of subjects from the following: Ancient History, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Chinese Background Speakers, Design and Technology, Drama, Earth and Environmental Science, Economics, English Advanced, English as a Second Language, English Extension 1 and 2, English Standard, Food Technology, Fundamentals of English, General Mathematics, Geography, History Extension, Hospitality, Information Technology, Information Processes and Technology, Italian Continuers, Japanese Beginners and Continuers, Legal Studies, Mathematics, Mathematics Extension 1 and 2, Modern History, Music Course 1 and 2, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, Physics, Society and Culture, Studies of Religion, Visual Arts.
